Despite services being funded from various sources, donations from individual community members and businesses help to pay for things not covered by other funding sources. Annual
Fund Raising Events
If you are interested in participating in any of these events or would like more information, please contact Kelly Turner at 765-662-9971 ext. 101. Crystal Ball- Crystal Ball is held in February and is a wonderful gala at Meshingomesia Country Club. There is a dinner with dancing to the Flip Miller Band which has become a highlight and annual tradition for many to attend just for the opportunity to dance to this wonderful band’s music. There is a silent auction for unique items and services. The Crystal Awards are also presented during the evening. The History award is given to an individual or group that has supported the agency over time. The Vision Award is given to someone who has helped develop the Agency. These awards have been presented since 1991. Sponsorships are available for the event. Crystal Sponsors-designated as an event sponsor, includes a table of 8 for the evening and recognition on all printed items related to the event. Platinum sponsors include a table of 8 and recognition at the event. Each sponsorship includes a tax-deductible donation to FSSI. Golf Scramble- The proceeds of this event benefit Hands of Hope and the Flannery-Keal Shelter. The Strong Family Project- The Strong Family Project is a chance for the community to come together to show their support for the protection of children and strong families. Family Service Society is looking for 100 community members who are willing to make a public statement supporting children and families. A $100 donation will your own name, an honoree, or a memorial in the Chronicle-Tribune. The donation is tax deductible and is also a great way to honor or remember a loved one on Father's Day. All funds raised go to benefit Family and Children Services of Family Service Society, Inc. and are placed in the Rev. Dr. Andrew Schramm Memorial Fund. Circle of Friends- The Circle of Friends is held in late summer or early fall. It is a fund-raising luncheon event with a speaker that connects to one of the social issues that FSSI focuses. There are sponsorships available from event sponsorships to table sponsorships. Event Sponsors are identified on all printed materials and advertisements. Each event and table sponsor gets to invite 7 people to fill his/her table table. There are numerous ways in which volunteers can be a part of the mission of the agency and the completion of our goals within the community. Some of the possibilities include: special projects, mailing preparations, data management, development projects, research, scrap booking our newspaper articles, grant writing, solicitation letter assistance, and some assistance with service delivery. Please contact Kelly Turner, 765-662-9971 ext. 101, Heather Kitts ext. 107, or Connie Rose ext. 108 to match your interest with our needs. $10,000.00

is a
snapshot of the return
on your investment
when every dollar counts. A donation of
$7,500.00 would
pay the
operating costs for all programs at all locations for one day. Our Family Support
programs
need $2,290.00
each day that we offer services. These
services are education based, focusing on child development. Research
has shown that this education helps
to strengthen families; contributing to the success of individuals
in school, work and throughout the
life-cycle. In
our Clinical
Counseling services we provide
individual counseling for children who have lived through abuse, adults
who
need help to be better parents, couples who are facing marital
difficulties,
children who need guidance to deal with anger and violence issues and
individuals dealing with problems that prohibit them from functioning
in a
normal way. Fees for clinical
services
are determined on a sliding scale ranging from $45 - $95 per unit of
service.
The Flannery Keal
Home
for victims of
Domestic Violence offers shelter and support for victims and their
children. Housing a victim costs
$60.00
per day. The average stay for a
client
is 11 days, at a cost of $660. 2009
year to date, 183 clients have received safe shelter; 101 women and 82
children.
Thank you for considering supporting these important programs that are addressing healthy child development, positive parenting, and healthy relationships. Strong families, confident, healthy children, child abuse prevention, domestic violence prevention, and child development are the issues on which Family Service Society programs are based.
