Return on Your Investment  -  Funding Sources  -  Donations  -  Annual Fund Raising Events -  Volunteering  -  2010 Donors

Return on Your Investment

Following is a snapshot of the return on your investment when every dollar counts.

A donation of $7,500.00 would pay the operating costs for all programs at all locations for one day.

Our Family Support programs need $2,290.00 each day that we offer services.  These services are education based, focusing on child development.  Research has shown that this education helps to strengthen families; contributing to the success of  individuals in school, work and throughout the life-cycle.

In our Clinical Counseling services we provide individual counseling for children who have lived through abuse, adults who need help to be better parents, couples who are facing marital difficulties, children who need guidance to deal with anger and violence issues and individuals dealing with problems that prohibit them from functioning in a normal way.  Fees for clinical services are determined on a sliding scale ranging from $45 - $95 per unit of service.

  • The average cost for clinical counseling with a Master’s level licensed therapist is $95.00 per hour.
  • Your $5,000.00 gift would allow a child to receive sessions for a year to be stronger and happier as they come out of an abusive situation
  • Your $1,000.00 gift would provide a series of sessions for a couple on the brink of calling it quits due to the frustrations of daily life.  Working through issues could save a family from being torn apart.
  • Your $250.00 donation would allow parents to receive reinforcement and guidance on dealing with a defiant teen.  Sometimes parents just need to learn basic parenting skills to help guide their children through difficult times.

The Flannery Keal Home for victims of Domestic Violence offers shelter and support for victims and their children.  Housing a victim costs $60.00 per day.  The average stay for a client is 11 days, at a  cost of $660.   2009 year to date, 183 clients have received safe shelter; 101 women and 82 children.

Cradle School a preschool experience for children and parents provides learning experiences for both while encouraging nurturing and bonding.  Historically Family Service Society, Inc. (FSSI) has provided two sessions during the school year as well as a summer session.  During each session, four sections are taught at three locations.   Throughout the year, over 150 families benefit from this program.

  • Your $350.00 donation would cover the cost of one class.
  • Your $1,500.00 donation would provide half of the instructional aids needed for the year
  • Your $1,500 donation would provide parent incentives for the entire year.
  • Your $3,000.00 gift would provide educational materials needed for the families.

Thank you for considering supporting these important programs that are addressing healthy child development, positive parenting, and healthy relationships.  Strong families, confident, healthy children, child abuse prevention, domestic violence prevention, and child development are the issues on which Family Service Society programs are based.

If you have any question or would like to discuss how your gift could benefit a particular program at FSSI, please contact Kelly Turner at 765-662-9971 ext. 101 for more information.

Annual Fund Raising Events

If you are interested in participating in any of these events or would like more information, please contact Kelly Turner at 765-662-9971 ext. 101.

Crystal Ball- Crystal Ball is held in February and is a wonderful gala at Meshingomesia Country Club. There is a dinner with dancing to the Flip Miller Band which has become a highlight and annual tradition for many to attend just for the opportunity to dance to this wonderful band’s music. There is a silent auction for unique items and services.

The Crystal Awards are also presented during the evening.  The History award is given to an individual or group that has supported the agency over time.  The Vision Award is given to someone who has helped develop the Agency.  These awards have been presented since 1991.

Sponsorships are available for the event. Crystal Sponsors-designated as an event sponsor, includes a table of 8 for the evening and recognition on all printed items related to the event.  Platinum sponsors include a table of 8 and recognition at the event.  Each sponsorship includes a tax-deductible donation to FSSI.

Golf Scramble- The proceeds of this event benefit Hands of Hope and the Flannery-Keal Shelter.

The Strong Family Project- The Strong Family Project is a chance for the community to come together to show their support for the protection of children and strong families.  Family Service Society is looking for 100 community members who are willing to make a public statement supporting children and families.  A $100 donation will your own name, an honoree, or a memorial in the Chronicle-Tribune. The donation is tax deductible and is also a great way to honor or remember a loved one on Father's Day.  All funds raised go to benefit Family and Children Services of Family Service Society, Inc. and are placed in the Rev. Dr. Andrew Schramm Memorial Fund.

Circle of Friends- The Circle of Friends is held in late summer or early fall.  It is a fund-raising luncheon event with a speaker that connects to one of the social issues that FSSI focuses.  There are sponsorships available from event sponsorships to table sponsorships. Event Sponsors are identified on all printed materials and advertisements. Each event and table sponsor gets to invite 7 people to fill his/her table table.

Volunteering

There are numerous ways in which volunteers can be a part of the mission of the agency and the completion of our goals within the community.  Some of the possibilities include: special projects, mailing preparations, data management, development projects, research, scrap booking our newspaper articles, grant writing, solicitation letter assistance, and some assistance with service delivery.  Please contact Kelly Turner, 765-662-9971 ext. 101, Heather Kitts  ext. 107, or Connie Rose ext. 108 to match your interest with our needs.
