About PULSE:

The PULSE (Positive Understanding of Life Skills and Empowerment) Program began in the Spring semester of 2016.  Family Services Society, Inc. (FSSI) received a Department of Mental Health and Addictions (DMHA) grant to conduct small life skills groups in the Elementary and Middle Schools within Grant County.

In the 2016-2017 School year, DMHA awarded FSSI additional funding to conduct life skills groups in Mississinewa schools as well.  The curriculum selected for the life skills groups was Botvin Life Skills which is an evidence based prevention curriculum, to learn more about this curriculum click here.

To date, two additional school districts have elected Botvin Life Skills as the curriculum of choice to assist students with life skills.  FSSI has trained school staff in five school districts in Grant County to be Botvin Life Skills facilitators.  This will ensure as many students as possible will be prepared for life after school.
